There’s a mural on Avenue C near my boyfriend’s apartment that seems to be constantly changing.  I think it started out as actual street artists’ work, but now it’s sponsored by some company so all the graphics look super cheesy and “subtly” support local businesses.  However, during election season, the mural was changed once again to images of McCain and Obama, urging local citizens to vote.  I wish I had pictures of the mural pre-election day, but suffice it to say from this post-November photograph, the businesses of Avenue of C were in the tank for Obama:

This is obviously beautiful and amazing and sheer jubilation shines through, and it is currently my desktop background.  Even better, though, is the final third of the mural:

The red X and “Good Bye” were the only things added post-election.  McCain was depicted as crazy earth-eating monster for months before.  I love New York!
